It would be nice, but I'm not expecting it.
[She shrugs.]
Did you like it? I know a notebook isn't as good as a sword.
[Her previous gift to him.]

A notebook is generally a useful gift, but it would be a lot more appreciated if you could give me something worthwhile to fill it with.

You're clever, you should be able to do that on your own.

I suppose I could use it to catalogue John's humiliating defeats at board games, but that would require us to actually engage in those activities again.

That's certainly one way to use it.
[She's thinking more Solving Mysteries, but he's right - there isn't much to solve around here.]
I wouldn't mind trying to get through another board game. Though I don't know about John, and we'd probably need a fourth person.

I'll handle John and leave you to gather a fourth.
[He's pretty positive that she has more friends than he does, and he's content with that being the case.]

I... sure.
[A fourth person? That might be a challenge, people might not be eager to play any kind of game with Sherlock.]
I'll give it a try.

[That's that matter settled then, he waves a hand dismissing it entirely now that it's on her shoulders.]
Then I suppose I'll see you again shortly.

Sure.
[She nods.
Okay, then. Next stop: the bulletin board.]
