He's not. I am. [ It's not an ideal method for Sylar, but it seems like the best one available right now. Would John be mad if Sylar managed to catch Sherlock off guard and knock him out? He bets he would. ]
[The surprise melts into sorrow. Thank God he's a good actor, or this might all have been blown away, because there's no way he trusts Gabriel with the truth.]
I jumped from the roof of a hospital, Gabriel, I didn't.
[ Yeaaahno. Sylar's not buying it. He's a pretty good actor, too, when he's actually trying. ]
It was a waterfall in the books. But similar method, sounds like. I'm guessing you're still chasing Moriarty's men.
Would you let me try this experiment on my own? I don't think anyone's been in a morgue overnight with the Eye app before. I could bring your tablet along for extra recording.
I am not whatever books you have written, there are many inconsistencies even between the variations of 'characters' people know. Perhaps that Sherlock Holmes survived, I...
[He cuts off, as if overcome by emotion and takes a moment with a shuddering breath.]
I appreciate your concern, but this theory requires two participants to prove.
[Gabriel has just become a dangerous man in Sherlock's eyes.
If he puts John's safety at home at risk because of his stupid theories, Sherlock is fully prepared to do whatever he must to eliminate that risk. He won't do anything just yet, he's not a wanton killer or psychopath (sociopath, it's different).
He'll let it drop for now.]
I will live through this.
[He's getting annoyed now. People need to stop questioning his genius.]
John has nothing to do with this, it's about testing a scientific theory. Are you taking part or not?
[He listened as far as 'of course I am' before tuning out. He doesn't care about Gabriel's opinions, just as long as he will still take part in the experiment.
He emphasises this by deliberately turning away while Gabriel is still mid sentence to check he has everything in his pack.]
[ Wow, rude. Sylar watches Sherlock check things with a flat expression. He doesn't care for this, not at all. He didn't get anywhere, he didn't confirm his own suspicions, and now he's being ignored. When he speaks again, he's nearly monotone. ]
What's so important about this theory, anyway? You hoping to crack open the nature of the anomalies? Or just finally get into those morgue drawers?
Being able to examine a corpse from within the drawers is vitally important, it could help explain revivals, anomalies, and the alterations that have been made to our bodies here.
[Mostly he just wants to prove he's right.]
Are you ready? The doors will be unlocking in thirty seven seconds.
[ Sylar had been ready to go since going to find Sherlock. And he has to admit that explaining the alterations on their bodies was a prime importance to him. He feels worn down already, lost and wondering what he's even trying to do right now.
Right, going someplace to die. He pulls on his stupid-looking baseball-hat-and-T-shirt combo, the best way he's managed to find to cover his ears while outside. ]
[Sherlock notices the change in Gabriel, he sees the existential worries, he just doesn't care about them nearly enough to address. So he shuffles them off to one side, deletes them as unimportant, and carries on.

Why haven't you told him you survived?

There are variations, but core concepts and important events tend to remain the same. And Sherlock Holmes does not die in a showdown against Moriarty.
[ He's so sure of it. He seems a little huffy as he continues. ]
Fine. I don't know why you're hiding it, here of all places. But whatever.
Is there anything else we can do to make sure you live through this? 'cause John's going to be a mess if you die.
that was meant to be read not written gdi

Of course I am. Just trying to find other options. So I don't, y'know, get punched in the face again.
I mean, once was cute. Any more than that and it starts getting tedious.
