I have about three years of new memories. I was a very busy boy back home.
The memories are strange, though. It's like they're layered onto what I experienced here. Like they don't have an actual section of time in my life they fit into, but they don't feel any less real for it.
Yep. Just finished that old song and dance. A couple decided to play tug of war with their new superpowered toy, and told me I was their son. Said they were trying to rehabilitate me.
[ He'd run around like a fool for the Petrellis. He'd spit on Arthur's grave if he ever came across it. ]
You're a serial killer, Gabriel, you're addicted to the power. Not that there'll be any point you continuing that here, of course, revivals tend to make those things pointless.
They played me for a good long time before I realized they just wanted an attack dog. It was stupid of them to think they could continue using me indefinitely. Neither one was willing to put in that much work.
There's no point in continuing here because no one has any powers. Revivals have nothing to do with it. I already took a couple abilities without killing and that's just as good.
[If it's just something that he doesn't have, then there are people here who meet that criteria. That Elric boy, for one. His own deductive capabilities.]
Then I suppose it will be back to moping over not having a purpose shortly? Three years and you are still the same man, if that isn't evidence of being incapable of change then little is.
What I'd like to be doing right now is hunting down information about my real parents. But since that's impossible, I thought I'd focus on trying not to die. Our time here's almost up, isn't it?
You don't think that's the case? I thought it was more like a sliding scale of 'we all turn into anomalies or useless people robots sometimes in between Days 250 and 300.' You've got another possible scenario?
There is too much conflicting evidence to the contrary.
We have been told that a quota needs to be met, one hundred people, and that quota has not been reached. If we were all to turn into anomalies, or perhaps succumb to radiation poisoning, then this would happen at a far more staggered rate. Those that have been here since day one should already be succumbing, what of those who are still arriving? It doesn't add up.
It's an arbitrary deadline intended to convince us to work faster, nothing more.
So you think that data error when a bunch of previous sessions' chat logs were leaked was manufactured, then? Maybe to try and give us more sympathy for the Admin?
Perhaps. Or perhaps the previous sessions reached the quota of 100, we have very little evidence of what actually happened or how long their 'sessions' were.
True. Then again, considering how our perceptions can be changed here, I'm not sure what would actually count as evidence. We did turn into weird monsters not too long ago.
Regardless, I'm still a fan of the 'trying not to die' goal, so I think I'll keep that up.
[ That stings. Although he tries to ignore it, it takes a minute before a reply comes through. ]
Already failed that part of the exam. Whoops.
So, Sherlock, what would you consider evidence of what happened here? Just as an example? More extensive computer records? Reaching some sort of control station with a history? None of the bodies have left us with much to go off of.
It's more sensible not to trust anything that we're presented with currently, there's no way of ascertaining how much is truth and how much fabrication.

[He wishes he knew how it was done.]
Three years. You must be highly established as a serial killer now. Can I assume that you have also attempted, and failed at, redemption?

Silly me. I thought I had a chance.

[ This was, unfortunately, explicitly tested before. Also, thanks for pointing out that sore spot, Sherlock. ]

Didn't work, if that's what she wanted.

All we have is hearsay and theory, not evidence.
