Other characters in play? None

Character Name: Sherlock Holmes
Canon: Sherlock (BBC)
Game Transplant: Snowblind
Original App: Here and then the added personality/history for his canon update here.
Game Summary: Snowblind is, at its heart, a survival horror game. The mysterious and sinister Admin controls the town from afar, and people from different worlds keep waking up in a snow-covered and abandoned town (Norfinbury) with no explanation of why. Nanomachines suppress any latent abilities or powers, an unfortunate side effect of protecting all the inhabitants from radiation sickness. Anomalies that pursue and kill, lack of rations or hot water, and temperatures at night that kill without fail are just a few of the things that anyone unfortunate enough to get caught here experience. The game is mystery driven, with characters constantly trying to uncover the secrets of the town and a possible way home.

How long was your character in Game: 5 months OOC: A little over 2 months IC (this is because the game runs on a 3:1 time)
History of Character in their Game: Sherlock arrived in the game and immediately deduced that everyone in the town must be suffering from some kind of mass hallucinations, himself included, induced by an airborne or injected substance. After all, this sort of place, full of floating teenagers and sentient non-humans could not possibly be real. He was utterly belligerently convinced of this for quite a while, until he came face to face with Davesprite.

Davesprite, who was quite clearly not even slightly human, shook the foundations of his world to the core. He broke down, and went into a tailspin of panic. Sherlock is a man who trusts entirely in his own mind, and his ability to make deductions, finding out that the impossible was real made him question how effective his deductive capabilities could possibly be in a place like Norfinbury. However, a chance deduction made during his panic allowed him to later see that he still possessed the same genius as ever, he merely needed to alter his world view and learn more. In an almost complete 180, Sherlock then embraced the reality of his situation and began to investigate the mysteries of the town.

Other than a few minor incidents, such as showing off to the nth degree during a game of 'two truths and one lie' to the entire population, there have only been two other major incidents during Sherlock's tenure in Norfinbury. The first of those was 'murder night'. The population of the town began to experience alterations to the appearance of their eyes, half gained glowing eyes, and the other half eerie drawn on eyes (referred to as Prophet eyes), in some strange parody of a Prophet who had lived in the town long ago. On the night in question, all of those with Prophet eyes (of which Sherlock was one), became overcome with the need to hunt down and brutally murder those with glowing eyes. Though Sherlock was able to resist at first, allowing a child to escape his clutches, he soon gave into the temptation to kill. He slaughtered Sylar and Stein, both known killers. The aftermath of that night left him shaken; sadly, not because of actually being a killer, but because his mind had been played with once more.

The other major incident was John Watson. It took little deductive power to discover that John was from an earlier time than he was, and a very sensitive one. John believed himself to be from after Sherlock's death, and he had not yet caught up to a time where he knew that this death was not real at all. Not wanting to deal with the fallout of that again, nor wanting to jeapordise John's potential future with his wife, Sherlock decided on a course of lying through his teeth like an utter bastard. He kept up the lie for quite a long time, but was eventually found out. What followed was a lot of arguing, hurt feelings, and the general sense of a friendship irrevocably ruined. This did not stop Sherlock from attempting to save John's life by killing himself in order to provide John with more warm clothes, and a warm body to utilise, when they became trapped overnight.

It didn't work, and both of them died.

During that period of death, Sherlock received extra memories from home, sending him further into a pattern of self destruction. When he woke up it was to the sickening knowledge that his calculations had not been correct after all, and that John had died despite his best efforts. This is where he will be coming from, shortly after waking in the morgue.

It is worth noting that Sherlock has also spent much of his time in the game attempting to con the doctors into prescribing him legal medications for not-so-legal uses. He is an addict, though he generally denies as much, and is unapologetic about his use of drugs to aid in the thinking process where necessary. As I know this can be a triggery subject, I will always warn if it comes up and I have a permission's post where anyone may opt out of Sherlock interactions, as well as inform me of any deductions they want made about their character so that I don't cross into info-mod territory.

How did they change from their canon personality wise: Sherlock has become slightly more patient with the emotional reactions of others. That's not to say that he still doesn't often react rudely or dismissively, but he has a few more moments of kindness. He is also more aware of how his actions affect other people. This came about mostly because of the mistakes he made with John regarding their timeline discrepencies, but also due to some favourable interactions with Emily Kaldwin and Stephen Strange.

He has also fully embraced the supernatural as a possibility and pursues deductions down those avenues as doggedly as he would with any others. This came about due to simple exposure, being forced to confront that humans weren't the only sentinent species made him re-evaluate what was important for him to consider. Otherwise, due to the relatively short nature of two months of IC time, and Sherlock's natural stubborn personality, he hasn't changed an awful lot in other ways.

How did they change from their canon physically: The only major difference to Sherlock in canon versus Sherlock in Snowblind is a loss of weight. Already quite a thin man, Sherlock has bypassed that and moved into gaunt and malnourished. This is partially because at his recent canon update point he was already malnourished due to excessive drug use, but it's also because he's absolutely rubbish at taking care of his own needs.

Powers: None.
Possessions: A deerstalker hat, his clothing, a small fold-up magnifying glass, one violin and bow in a case, and a large bag full of miscellaneous crap.

Sample One: In person realising that non humans are real
Sample Two: Over the network showing off at two truths and one lie - please note: at the point of this thread, series four had not yet been released and so I was working under the assumption that Sherlock had another brother somewhere. This has since been proven inaccurate.
Sample Three: In person serious and silly with John
Sample Four: Over the network revival after canon update - cw: suicide discussion

Notes: I will not be taking him from the fourth wall, as the fourth wall Sherlock is from a different point in Snowblind canon to this Sherlock. Therefore he won't remember the fourth wall. I would also like to request that he be housed with John Watson, who is also applying this round.

Permissions Post

So, Sherlock is a master at deduction, which is pretty much like saying he's a canon infomodder. I know this isn't for everyone, and so if you'd like to tag with Sherlock (and please do, I love CR), then please fill out this form so I know what I can/can't do. Alternatively, if you'd prefer I didn't tag your character(s) with Sherlock, please just let me know here and I'll most certainly abide by that. Comments are screened so nobody else needs to know :)

As far as permissions for Sherlock go, I'm game for pretty much anything so go wild. I am fully aware 99.9% of his CR will likely be negative, he is a massive asshole and doesn't tend to be shy in his deductions.

Regarding my permissions, it's a yes on pretty much everything. Just contact me if you're unsure, or if you want to kill Sherlock, but I'm up for most things.

Thank you!
